Access to Early Learning (AEL) is an initiative funded by the Department of Education and Training that
aims to support families with 3 year old children who may be experiencing vulnerability to participate in
a 15 hour kindergarten program.
Unlike Early Start Kindergarten (ESK) which provides funding for 15 hours of kindergarten for eligible 3
year old children, AEL also provides considerable outreach support. This includes supporting families,
educators and other services to ensure eligible children participate in early learning.
