Dear early childhood education and care service providers, teachers, educators and support staff
As we end 2021, I want to express my sincere thanks to you and your team, for your hard work, day in day out, to support, educate and care for Victoria’s youngest children.
I’d be grateful if you could pass this message on to your colleagues on my behalf.
Despite the many challenges this year, your dedication and skill ensured that our youngest learners were able to get the best start in life, as they commenced their education journey.
Like other Victorians, you’ve had to change your lives and your professional practice because of COVID-19 and I’m grateful that you have done so, while maintaining your unwavering commitment to children in your services and their families.
And while I know this year has been a challenge, I look forward to welcoming 2022 and a new year of learning for Victorian children, no matter where they live.
Next year will see the state-wide roll-out of universal, funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten, with all the opportunities that it will present for young children and their families.
I hope you have a happy, safe and restful holiday season, and enjoy your time with family and friends.
Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do in service of the youngest Victorians. Yours sincerely
Ingrid Stitt MP
Minister for Early Childhood
