Shine for kids is an organisation that support children, young people and families with relatives in the criminal justice system and presenting a teacher training this month. While this webinar is aimed at schools, it will provide strategies and information to support children and families that we may be working with.
The webinar will be focused on giving classroom teachers and support staff the insight to identify and address the complex needs of a child facing the challenges of a parent in incarceration. Through this webinar you will learn:
- How to appropriately discuss and support a child and their family in a time of need
- What challenges the child may face in the school and classroom environment
- How any educator can integrate a compassionate approach to supporting children who are struggling with the challenges associated with having a parent in incarceration.
