The Swan Hill Harmony Day Committee is excited to announce the theme for the 2023 Harmony Day Community Art Project: “Hand in Hand with Harmony”.
Led by local textile artist Raylene Richardson and supported by Narges Jafari, a local artist from Afghanistan, the project aims to explore diversity and connections within our community. To achieve this, participants’ collective art pieces will come together at the Swan Hill Harmony Day event.
This year’s art installation will include a people’s chain created using fabric pieces decorated by the community. We incorporated fabric to represent its different uses around the world. Fabric can tell the story of our culture, traditions, and belonging.
The Harmony Day team will provide the fabric templates to you. Please let us know how many pieces you require. Each piece measures 1m x750cm. We invite you to decorate the template as you wish, providing it remains two-dimensional for hanging purposes. The ‘hand in hand with harmony’ artworks will be connected to each other and exhibited at Riverside Park, Swan Hill for the Swan Hill Harmony Day event, on Saturday 25th of March 2023, 4pm- 8pm.

The fabric pieces can be collected from the Swan Hill Library or can be provided to you if required.
Finished art pieces will need to be returned to Swan Hill Library by the 15th of March 2023 to be included in the installation at the Swan Hill Harmony Day event.
