Board

Shine Bright EYM is overseen by a Board of Management. The Board is made up of carefully selected community members who bring key skills to support Shine Bright EYM such as finance, strategic planning, early childhood education and information technology knowledge. Each Board member is required to operate in Shine Bright EYM’s best interests, holding the core values and purpose, vision and mission statements as heartfelt aims.

David Richmond (Chair)

Shine Bright EYM Chairman, Mr David Richmond holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting & Business Law), a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and a Graduate Diploma (Chartered Accounting).

David is a partner at a Bendigo accounting firm RSD Chartered Accountants.

David has been working in public practice for the past 22 years, where he works predominately with businesses and the Not for Profit sector as a strategic taxation, accounting and business advisor. David is committed to making a difference in the community by applying his skills for the benefit of volunteer and not for profit organisations within the community. David believes strongly that education will shape the future for our next generations, and a great kindergarten experience will be key to our children’s success in future years. In addition to Shine Bright EYM, David is also a member of the Maiden Gully Primary School Council, and is a director of the Bendigo Business Council.

Bachelor of Arts, Grad Diploma (Computing) Grad Diploma (Education)

 

Marc holds Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma (Computing), a Graduate Diploma (Education) and Masters in Leadership. Marc currently holds the position of Executive Director- Education Excellence at Melbourne Polytechnic with oversight of a range of Higher Education, Vocational (VET) and Foundation qualifications including Early Childhood. He has experience as a teacher and leader in both the primary, secondary and tertiary education context alongside policy and project leadership roles within the Department of Education and as a lecturer in Education at LaTrobe University.

Russell Barnier (B.Juris, LL.B, FCIS, FGIA (Life) MAICD) is a commercial lawyer and principal of a legal firm in Bendigo, admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in Melbourne . Russell’s career has included in-house legal counsel in the corporate arena, corporate lawyer and company secretary to a major Australian bank and general counsel and corporate secretary to a major health care network in Melbourne. Russell is also a governance professional and consults to organisations on internal corporate governance issues.
