6 – Collaborative partnerships with families and communities.
Description
Educators often comment that supporting families (parents/carers) can take a significant amount of resources, particularly time. Selecting this option will give Educators some time back. Aligning with Quality area 6 – collaborative partnerships with families and communities – provides parenting support as a part of the service culture, shifting the focus from a deficit model to a positive support approach. These sessions will be facilitated by two Shine Bright Allied Health staff, based on a similar approach to Reflective Practice with Educators. Using Arts-based processes to support reflection can provide parents/carers an opportunity to critically reflect on their parenting approaches, beliefs and values. Case discussion can form a component of these facilitated sessions. Educators at the service will not be in attendance.
