Our Philosophy

We utilise the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) in delivering our care and educational program.
We believe that children are confident, involved and engage learners. We acknowledge that children are the main instigators of their own learning. We believe that learning occurs through play and in collaboration with peers, families, educators and the community.

We value the impact that children’s unique interests will have on our program. We support the children’s opportunity to make decisions about what experiences they will be engaging in. We believe in a flexible, open ended and play-based program that scaffolds each child’s learning.

We aim to provide an inclusive environment that is stable, nurturing and calm. Children will have the opportunity to be themselves and to freely express their ideas. We have high expectations for each child, we place trust in their own judgements, which allows them to develop the ability to accept responsibility for their own actions and to reach learning outcomes.

Child safety is a priority in our practices, polices and Code of Conduct to protect children from harm. We are committed to child safety by providing a support, caring and safe learning environment for all children.

We believe that influencing key healthy lifestyle behaviours with children and their families will result in lifelong healthy lifestyles. We are a ‘Sunsmart’ and ‘Smiles4miles’ friendly service

Our service promotes environmentally friendly and sustainable practices, which encourages the children and their families to be conscious about recycling, appreciation and respect for the natural environment.

We value our partnerships with families and the diversity that each family brings to our service. We believe that it is in the best interests of families to foster a strong identity enriched with a sense of belonging and connection to their history, culture, family and kin. We respect and support families as the first educators of their children and who have varying child rearing practices, values and beliefs.
