Our Philosophy

To sense of belonging is created for children as they feel welcomed, accepted and included in the setting and are able to develop secure attachments and trust with educators and other children.

To create a sense of being is created for children by focusing on the present, developing an understanding of themselves as individuals and being supported to meet challenges and develop relationships.

We create a sense of becoming by encouraging children to follow their interests, expand their knowledge and skills as individuals and become active contributors in their world.

We as educators facilitate children’s learning by providing opportunities for child initiated play and learning, guided play and learning and intentional teaching.

Educators are committed to ongoing professional learning – so that a stimulating teaching and learning environment is provided. This includes reflection to allow for ongoing learning to occur.

We encourage connectedness to the natural environment by providing open ended and natural materials for children to explore; as well as promoting sustainable practices such as recycling and being water wise to preserve our natural resources for future generations.

We have a strong connection to our local community, regularly visiting local businesses and facilities to develop the children’s understandings of the world in which they live.

We see children as confident and capable learners and provide opportunities for ALL children to achieve success in their learning. Educators plan and assess to cater for the whole child, taking into account their social, emotional, physical, cognitive and sensory needs.

We strive to create a safe, secure and stimulating environment that is enjoyable for children so learning is meaningful. Children are scaffolded to develop positive communication skills, problem solving skills, social and cultural awareness and the capacity to express and acknowledge feelings.

We develop positive & reciprocal partnerships with families as we recognise families are a child’s first teacher and respect their decisions, values, beliefs and cultural diversity. Families are encouraged to participate and contribute to the program as much as possible and are included in decision making with the joint setting of goals.
