To help support Shine Bright Teachers and Educators in integrating First Nations Perspectives into everyday learning, two of our Early Years Advisors attended the recent 2025 Aboriginal Best Start forum held in Melbourne.
Kayla Enever (Early Years Advisor, Swan Hill and Charlton) and Georgie Goddard (Early Years Advisor, Mildura) said that the forum has deepened their understanding of supporting Aboriginal children and families in the early years.
“The forum provided valuable insights into delivering professional development that integrates Aboriginal perspectives, fostering culturally responsive practices in early childhood education, and the importance of a collaborative approach with children, families and communities.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with community leaders and educators, strengthening our commitment to First Nations perspectives and improving cultural safety and outcomes for Aboriginal children. We look forward to sharing what we have learned with our colleagues.
Shine Bright is partners with the Mildura Best Start site and the Wayipungitj Program, which specifically supports Aboriginal children and families to access and engage with early years services.
