Great News!!! Woorinen Kindergarten has been successful with a grant application for a Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant for an Indigenous Garden!
The Indigenous Garden project aims to educate the children to gain an understanding of sustainability, and caring for the environment through gardening. Children will set up and manage the garden creating connections by allowing them to plan, prepare, choose, plant, maintain and play in this garden. By having this hands-on learning experience the children will identify that their actions will have an impact and positive influence on the environment.
Woorinen Kindergarten is one of 538 primary schools and early learning centres throughout Australia receiving a Woolworths Junior Landcare grant. The Woolworths Junior Landcare grant helps grow our next generation of environmental champions.
The grants are being funded with money made from the sale of the Woolworths recyclable Bag for good™. Launched in 2018 when the supermarket stopped using single-use plastic bags.
The children and teachers are looking forward to working and learning from this project and we’ll keep you updated on the results.
