The Shine Bright board and leadership team released the 2026-2028 strategic plan in February 2026.

Developed over six months with input from staff, families, and key partners, the plan sets out a clear organisational direction for the next three years for Shine Bright. It focuses on strengthening leadership and operations so our educators can continue to concentrate on what matters most – caring for and educating children. These are two distinct areas of professional expertise. This strategic plan clearly elevates the dual role educators play in nurturing children’s identity and sense of belonging, while they lead the first two years of the formal learning journey.

Our values

The strategic plan contains our values, which shape our workplace culture, and tangible examples of our values in action.

Our philosophy

The Shine Bright Way was developed to allow our educators to focus on the real work of being with children and to follow our purpose of making every moment matter in an ever-changing profession. We know that when we focus on our purpose, joy is more accessible. Following the lead of children also leads us to joy.

It is who we are, our philosophy and what we want to be known for. The Shine Bright Way is underpinned by our values and enabled by:

Professionalism | collaborative generative thinking | being open to complexity | using meaningful documentation | and foregrounding First Nations Perspectives.
