The Brotherhood of St Laurence is currently looking for people to participate in the Saver Plus program. BSL seeking support from Shine Brighter to help raise awareness of the program through your services, programs and publications.
Saver Plus is a matched savings and financial education program that aims to assist parents on lower incomes to strengthen their financial skills and to develop a savings habit. The program provides financial training and support and motivates participants to save by matching their savings dollar for dollar, up to $500. This money can be used to pay for education costs such as computers, books, uniforms and school excursions.

Since 2003 Saver Plus has reached more than 46,000 Australians across 60 locations in every state and territory, helping them save more than $24 million and providing an additional $19 million in matched savings.
Lasting savings habits – 87% participants continue to save the same amount or more 3 to 7 years after completing the program
Be better prepared – 78% participants were better equipped for unexpected expenses
Stay in control – 80% had more control over their finances
Improved personal wellbeing – 100% experienced increases in life, financial and employment satisfaction, whilst 88% reported increased self-esteem
The program is an initiative of Brotherhood of St Laurence and ANZ and delivered in partnership with The Smith Family, Berry Street and other local community agencies. The program is funded by ANZ and the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
The Brotherhood of St Laurence looks forward to continuing its work in the Greater Bendigo Community in the coming years, receiving funding approval for another 3 years which makes us the largest and longest running program of its kind in the world.
