Following a period of rapid growth since formation in 2018, Shine Bright Early Years Manager (EYM) is seeking expressions of interest from someone passionate about early years education and care to join our board.

withCurrent Chair of the Board, David Richmond, said that Shine Bright is going through an exciting period of renewal and is preparing for generational reform in the early years education sector.

“The Shine Bright board is currently working with the senior leadership team to develop our 2026-2028 strategic plan. It’s a great time to join the board and help shape the future of one of Victoria’s largest early years education and care providers.

“We have 41 kindergartens under our management, with two that include long daycare services. Our strategic plan will include growth planning, and we are preparing for the Victorian Government’s Best Start Best Life reforms.

We are seeking a board member with appropriate professional skills and a strong governance mindset – someone passionate about making sure that all young learners have the opportunity to meet their unique potential.

“We aim to increase the board to a sufficient size so that the growing requirements of the business can be met,” he said.

Shine Bright EYM is a non-profit organisation funded by the Victorian Government with an annual turnover of approximately $30 million. Our 450 staff are qualified in early years teaching and care and situated across 41 services in and around Bendigo, Buloke, Campaspe, Swan Hill and Mildura. The Central Office is in Bendigo and comprises a team of approximately 30 professional service experts who provide support for Shine Bright services in payroll, finance, recruitment, communications, human resource management and strategic planning. Early Years Advisors and Regional Managers in Central Office provide educational support to all services.

“This is an exciting opportunity for someone with board experience to join a team that supports a passionate and professional workforce of educators who work hard to ensure that our services frequently exceed National Quality Standards.

David Richmond

“The board has an excellent working relationship with the Shine Bright executive and a strong track record of responsible financial management.

“We look forward to welcoming new experience to the board to support the strategic and financial oversight that will ensure Shine Bright continues to thrive,” David said.
