Kangaroo Flat Kindergarten went on a community walk to pick up rubbish. The Kindergarten registered with Clean up Australia Day who sent gloves for every child and educator as well as rubbish bags.
Teachers discussed how to keep safe while collecting rubbish before leaving and during our walk.
The children collected 3 full garbage sized bags of rubbish and were so proud of themselves. We heard lots of children commenting on why more people don’t just use the bins provided. “They aren’t caring for our country” I heard more than once. One child even found a $50 note – it pays to do a good deed!
Back at kinder we sorted the rubbish into recycling and landfill.
We are all so proud of our kookaburra group they made the Kangaroo Flat Creek trail a much cleaner place.
